~ November 2010 ~
You can see by our smiling faces that we're happy! Happy to be back in Thailand, in Chiang Mai, happy to be reunited with the friends we made last time (visitors like us, and locals).
It's great to be back in the land of smiles!
We had good flights over - it was nearly 30 hours total travel time. Two of our three flights were on Korean Air, which was enhanced by the wonderful staff and their adorable uniforms!
Somehow we timed our departure just right, as Fairbanks turned into a giant ice rink a few days later. We hope it didn't create too much havoc for our friends & family, but we were sure glad to not be a part of that mess!
So, we've been wandering the streets & sois (side alleys), buying fabulous fruit & munchies for lunch, eating terrific dinners, enjoying the pool & friends, playing golf (Sada), beading (Jill), reading & relaxing!
Loi Krathon is the Festival of Lights - more on that in the next blog, but here's one pic of the beautiful Lanna lantern display at the Tha Pae Gate (the big plaza right near our hotel).
These lanterns have a magical quality - everyone under them is filled of delight!
There was much cute posing & snapping of pictures every where you looked!
It's great to be back!
Loved reading your blog, Jill. Your photos are great, and along with the text, allow us a window into the amazing experiences you and Sada are having in Thailand.
